Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 4 cups cubed stale white bread
  • 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 1 cup finely chopped celery
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 3 cups cooked chicken cubed or shredded

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread and stale bread.
  • Add in the chopped onions, celery, and seasonings (salt, pepper, poultry seasoning).
  • Mix in the shredded chicken.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, and chicken broth.
  • Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is well combined.
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan and spread the dressing mixture evenly.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
