Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 2 (21 oz) cans strawberry pie filling
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (15.25 oz) box yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, thinly sliced

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Dollop the cream cheese mixture evenly over the strawberry filling.
  • Distribute the dry cake mix uniformly over the top of the other layers.
  • Arrange the butter slices on top of the cake mix, covering as much surface area as possible.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  • Allow the cake to cool for 20 minutes before serving to ensure the cheesecake layer sets.
