Ingredients
1
loaf (16 oz)
French or Italian bread
1/2
cup unsalted
butter, softened to room temperature
3
cloves garlic
, finely minced
1
teaspoon dried
oregano
1/4
teaspoon kosher
salt
2
cups shredded
mozzarella cheese
1/4
cup grated
Parmesan cheese
2
tablespoons fresh
parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
Cut the bread loaf in half lengthwise and place both halves cut-side up on a large baking sheet.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, dried oregano, and salt until a uniform paste is formed.
Apply the garlic butter mixture evenly across the cut surfaces of the bread using a spatula.
Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 5 minutes to toast the bread and infuse the garlic.
Remove from the oven and distribute the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the buttered surface.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
Garnish with fresh parsley and slice into 2-inch pieces before serving.
