The Easiest Cheesy Garlic Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf (16 oz) French or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 3 cloves garlic , finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  • Cut the bread loaf in half lengthwise and place both halves cut-side up on a large baking sheet.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, dried oregano, and salt until a uniform paste is formed.
  • Apply the garlic butter mixture evenly across the cut surfaces of the bread using a spatula.
  • Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 5 minutes to toast the bread and infuse the garlic.
  • Remove from the oven and distribute the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the buttered surface.
  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and slice into 2-inch pieces before serving.
