Ingredients
  

For the Cream Mixture

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese Use fresh mascarpone for best flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Do not over-whip.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

For the Layers

  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee Substitute with milk for a kid-friendly version.
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 package mini cookie cups Regular-sized cups can be used with adjusted layers.
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and heavy cream. Whip until soft peaks form.
  • In another bowl, mix the brewed coffee and chocolate syrup.
  • Take the mini cookie cups and layer a spoonful of the coffee-chocolate mixture at the bottom.
  • Add a layer of the mascarpone cream mixture on top of the coffee-chocolate layer.
  • Repeat the layers until the cups are filled, finishing with the mascarpone cream.
  • Dust the tops with cocoa powder and add chocolate shavings for garnish.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

These cookie cups are great on their own or served with fresh fruit. For an indulgent touch, pair with coffee or vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They do not freeze well due to the cream.
