Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute half with whole wheat flour for added texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For topping

  • 1 cup caramel candies Press into cookies while warm.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Melt and drizzle over the cookies.

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the sugar, brown sugar, and butter until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla until fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  • Immediately press a caramel candy onto each cookie while warm.
  • Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the top of each cookie when the caramel is set.
  • Allow to cool and enjoy!

Notes

These cookies pair well with vanilla ice cream or a glass of milk. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds if needed.
